Improving Performance and Innovation in Public Administration
Convention to present “e-Governance: transforming to build trust and quality” Volume,
in Reval Hotel Lietuva, on 8th October 2007, Vilnius.
The Volume “e-Governance: transforming Government to build trust and quality” was
presented in Vilnius, Lithuania, on the 8th October 2007, in collaboration with the Lithuanian
Ministry of Interior, the State Tax Inspectorate, and the Italian Ministry for Reforms
and Innovation in P.A.
The topic of the conference dealt with the ways in which e-Governance contributes to
strengthen the essential partnership between the public sector and the citizen.
The aim of the convention was to collect and to compare different European experiences
regarding the computerization of Public Administrations in order to outline an overall view of
the state of e-Gov in Europe and to establish the guidelines for the future. The conference saw
the participation of some of the most important international experts (Italy, Austria, Holland,
Belgium, Spain, Finland and others other countries) coming from both the institutional and
academic world, as well as on the remarkable presence of an international and selected
audience.
The initiative was supported by the European Commission, by the Council of Europe and by
various E.U. administrations, such as: State Tax Inspectorate, Lithuania; Ministry of the
Interior, Lithuania, Ministry of Interior of Germany, Ministry of Interior of Poland, Ministry of
Information and Technology of Malta, Ministry of Informatics of Czech Republic, Slovenian
Ministry for Public Administration, Bulgarian Ministry of State Administration and
Administrative Reform, Danish Ministry for Science, Technology and Innovation, Fedict, Belgian
State Secretary for State Computerization, Digital Austria, Federal Chancellery of Austria,
Ministry Prime Minister’s office, Hungary, Ministry of Public Administration, Spain, Ministry of
